Description
At first I thought this was the perfect candidate for a black and white conversion...but then I decided that that was too obvious, and decided to go with the little bit of color. Maybe the next one I do from this shoot will be black and white! :) Pacifica Pier, Pacifica, CA.....

Usually IF I like a scene, I'll shoot it first in color, then switch to monchrome. Black and White is always best!! ;) love the textures left on the beach by the surf!!

You have captured the feeling of standing on the beach with dampness in the air while the sea churns and the fog rolls in. LF fb

When I lived in San Diego California in the early 1980s, I would sometimes go to the beach at night and listen to the waves hit the pier posts or legs, not sure what they are called..Anyway, and there were times when it would be fogged as in this photo, I have to say, it brings a strange feeling of fear and amazement that just flows over you...This photo reminds me of those times, long ago! l/f/tweet
Laurie Search replied:
Thank you for sharing the memories, Georgia!! Yes, especially at night, the fog can be very spooky, as well as amazing!! Thank you so, so much, too, for the wonderful support!! I really appreciate it!! :)))

This is the sign of a true artist, Laurie! Making the choice to leave a hint of color enhances the moody tone of this so much more than true black and white! Smart choice! Beautiful image! l/f
